Our quest for the bluefin continued. After a fun morning catching our quota of red rockfish we took a tour back down towards the tuna grounds. After a short search we located a bigger body of fish. Unfortunately they wouldn’t bite any of our offerings. Flatspot after Flatspot producing zero became very frustrating. But we were in perfect position for an opportunity tonight. 

A different start for us tonight actually hooking and landing a few fish before midnight. Unfortunately the substantial fleet and derby style atmosphere made it very difficult to fish the few schools that were up playing around. Not for the faint of heart to be sure such times serve to remind us why long range is our fishery of choice. Overall we produced 7 more nice fish and drifted out the remaining hour of darkness allowing for everyone to take a refreshing little nap. We’ll be hard at it again soon...
